Marine Magic

£675.00
sold out

Attention grabbing glow in the dark abstract depiction of jellyfish in the deep ocean.

Brings wonder, delight, surprise and big smiles to all who see it!

This was enormous fun to create and has made a huge impression with the viewing public. Created specifically for Nottingham Light Night in February 2024 to fit the theme of Light and Colour, I felt that this painting undeniably fitted the brief!

A UV strip light is attached by a bracket to the top of the painting which is operated by a usb switch. In darkness, when the UV light is switched on, the fluorescent acrylics come alive with brilliant glowing colour. The strip light has a reasonable life and is replaceable when it has run out of juice.

When displayed in the window of the Nottingham Society of Artists gallery in Friar Lane, the painting proved to have a magnetic attraction. It’s a real showstopper!

The jellyfish and tendrils are 3D, being created from clay, and painted with high quality fluorescent acrylic.

Acrylic on stretched canvas 51 x 76 x 3.5cm
