Resilience
I don’t think there can be anyone who isn’t enchanted by poppies, with their wafer thin petals fluttering in the breeze. They seem far too fragile to withstand the elements yet they sway and bend in harmony with whatever the weather hurls at them and remain graceful, strong and resilient. The background of barely discernible clouds in blues and golds, ebbing and flowing across the canvas was a painting in its own right, but as I let it rest, my creative juices flowed. The result is the blue poppies with a grounding of abstract foliage in copper and brown. I was delighted with this evolution!
