Eye-catching fluid art

Its not just my eye-catching fluid art that has caught the world’s attention. There is often a story and a profound experience behind the inspiration of an artist’s masterpiece - https://rauantiques.com/blogs/canvases-carats-and-curiosities/history-of-artistic-inspiration-how-artists-find-their-muse

Inspiration can be a very personal and unique process often reflecting one’s traumatic experiences, movement in nature, and emotional engagement.

Inspirational eye-catching fluid art

Eye-catching fluid art is often poignant and sentimental, using tilting, swirling, swiping and pouring techniques to achieve the desired emotion. The array of special effects that can be achieved make fluid art a very popular medium for abstract creations. When the artist also has brush skills and sculptural aptitude the eye catching fluid art surface can become the page on which a visual story unfolds.

The freedom within the movement of eye-catching fluid art makes each piece unique and organic as if touched by nature. It has fascinating shapes, an extraordinary blend of colour, and a rhythm that dances. So, what was it about my eye-catching fluid art that caught the attention of Recipe - https://www.recipe.media/ - and CRUK - https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/ - ? Why did they choose me? I have a few theories.

  1. My Breast Cancer Eye-Catching Fluid Art Collection

In 2022, I was honoured to receive an Arts Council England (ACE) grant to create a 41 piece portfolio on breast cancer (check out the YouTube link:

These works now reside in the radiology corridor of the Breast Institute at Nottingham City Hospital - a space where patients and visitors can find solace and distraction during their own cancer journeys.

2. Recognition by Arts Council England

ACE has referenced my work multiple times, including International Women’s Day (March 2023), a grant recipient case study (August 2024) (See the ACE website! https://www.artscouncil.org.uk/

3. BBC Podcast: You, Me, and the Big C - putting the can in cancer

I was lucky enough to join a BBC 5 Live podcast where four artists (me included) shared our cancer stories and explored the therapeutic power of art in all its guises. The recording studio featured multiple A1 reproductions of my white woman creation which had been selected as the representative logo/symbol for the episode. Actor and writer Rosa Hesmondhalgh hosts this legacy episode released on 30th April 2024.
