GROUND FROST 2 - Fluid art on large canvas with stunning composition in copper, charcoal and gold with resin finish.

GROUND FROST 2 - beautiful soft dove grey, charcoal, pale aqua, bronze and copper combine to create the colours of frost underfoot.

When the ground is crunchy and crisp with snow and frost there are so many colours which peep through the white to reveal snippets of the forest floor. Here we have a very limited colour palette of gold, copper, black oxide, and aqua on a white surface which have blended beautifully to create a lovely collection of soft hues. The colourarte pigments and interference colours shimmer and radiate when viewed in a certain light, which cannot be seen from the photographs. The gold in particular makes a real statement.

This, and its partner, Ground Frost 2, was a star at my recent exhibition when viewers ducked and swerved to catch the iridescence and sheen. It is most appealing in its simplicity.

This was created using the bloom recipe and adopting the swipe technique. It was constructed using acrylics and a wide variety of hand mixed colourarte pigments. The resin finish performs its magic and makes the colours sing.

If you are drawn to this one you might like to check out its partner - GROUND FROST 1. Whilst the colour palette is the same for both paintings there are slightly different colour emphases which complement the duo. The pair can be hung in either orientation with the canvases mirroring each other.
