Holme Fen

£520.00

This painting holds a special place in my heart, evoking a deep sense of peace, calm, and tranquility. At the same time, it also conveys strength and permanence, qualities that seem to stem from the solid, unwavering presence of the birch trees. I absolutely love this piece, and when it eventually finds its forever home, I hope it resonates just as deeply with its new owner.

The background features a fluid base in graduated shades of blue and silver, transitioning from light to dark as it ascends—creating the illusion of a serene night sky. To ground the composition, I introduced strands of bronze and green at the base, suggesting the presence of grasses swaying gently at ground level.

The birch trees, crafted from clay and textured with crackle paste, beautifully capture their distinctive flaky bark. Each trunk and stubby branch was then hand-painted in delicate tones of grey, black, and white, bringing them to life with intricate detail.

✨ Acrylic on stretched canvas, 76 × 61 × 2 cm, finished with resin for durability and a subtle sheen.
