Shell Rosa
Powered by my Hampton Court Freesia creation I embarked on this very ambitious pink roses work.
The process here was long and complex involving the moulding and sculpting of all the detailed components. The petals, buds, thorns and leaves are all individually crafted from clay, hand painted and individually resined. The stems are constructed from floral tape and wire and hand painted. Every element is shaped and textured precisely and assembled with patience and dexterity. I was SO delighted with the colour palette here and love the sharp contrast of the soft pink and very dark green.
The fluid base in ivory, pink and a softer tone of the green on the leaves proved to be a perfect backdrop for my roses. This is truly an extraordinary artwork - it has an indefinable quality, and is of course unique.
