This was enormous fun to create and has made a huge impression with the viewing public. Created specifically for Nottingham Light Night in February 2024 to fit the theme of Light and Colour, I felt that this painting undeniably fitted the brief!
UV strip lights are attached by brackets to the top of the painting and are operated by two independent switches. In darkness, when the UV lights are switched on, the fluorescent acrylics come alive with brilliant glowing colour. The strip lights have a reasonable life and are replaceable when they have run out of juice.
When displayed in the window of the Nottingham Society of Artists gallery in Friar Lane, the painting proved to have a magnetic attraction. It’s a real showstopper!
