I had several little tubs of mixed paint and pigment left over from other creations, and, as it is against my nature to dispose of things (I have Scottish heritage and was raised in Yorkshire - say no more!), I had to put them to good use - this was the delightful result. The purple has assumed a dominant role but the colours have all blended beautifully and the creation of the pearls was an added bonus. We have amethyst, aquamarine, emerald, sapphire, gold, ruby, rose quartz and yellow diamonds jumbled together in our chest with a splatter of pearls for good measure.

I opted for a white deep edge on this painting which serves as a sharp contrast with the strong purple - all in all a very vivacious painting full of colour, flow and energy.
